Postponed by Keynsham Cultural Consortia, Keynsham Town Council and Bath & North East Somerset Council as a mark of respect in light of yesterday’s news of the Queen’s passing. We are currently working hard to reschedule the event and more information will be shared in due course.

Keynsham Durley Hill Cemetery is both a peaceful Victorian burial ground and the location of a major Roman archaeological site.

Come and discover the unusual mortuary chapel, home to striking stained-glass windows and the original funeral bier used by the workhouse until the 1920s. There will be a display of photographs and artefacts about the history of the site, including the creation of the chapel and the discovery of the Roman ruins.

The cemetery is set in beautiful natural surroundings. Keynsham Avon Wildlife Trust will be on site to help visitors discover some of its astonishing wildlife.

  • Venue: Durley Hill, Keynsham, BS31 2AT.
  • Suitable for everyone. The cemetery chapel is accessible, but some parts of the cemetery are uneven and difficult to access.
  • Cost: FREE for Keynsham Heritage Open Days.
