Written by Kevin Cattell, starring Roland Oliver.

Ever wanted to win big? Want to meet a man who can show you how? For those of a certain age, the name Horace Batchelor conjures up memories of listening to Radio Luxembourg. It’s 1974. Horace’s Infra-Draw Method for winning the pools has not only brought him a lot of money but also a heap of infamy to Keynsham. That’s right, K-E-Y-N-S-H-A-M.

In this rags-to-riches story (your rags, his riches), the legendary King of Keynsham takes you into his world before he leaves it. Join Horace in his 27 bedroom mansion where his secrets will come tumbling out to a soundtrack of non-copyrighted hits. A change in fortunes is guaranteed.

For one night only this January, Kevin Cattell’s one-man play returns to Keynsham. First performed at Bristol’s Tobacco Factory in 2013 as An Audience with Horace Batchelor, the show’s revival comes as part of KTCRfm‘s third birthday celebrations – a series of live performances celebrating music, broadcast and creativity in Keynsham.

  • When: Friday 20 January 2023, 7.30pm
  • Where: The Space, 5 Temple St, Keynsham, Bristol BS31 1HA (above Keynsham Library)
  • Running time: 60 minutes
  • Tickets: Free, but must be booked in advance
