Home About About Historic England’s HS HAZ Scheme

In 2019 Historic England launched the High Streets Heritage Action Zones (HS HAZ). A £95 million government funded programme that seeks to unlock the potential of High Streets across England. Fuelling economic, social, and cultural recovery, the programme aims to breathe new life into historic high streets for future generations to enjoy.

Keynsham is one of more than 60 high streets across the country that was successful in receiving funding from Historic England. Of these, there are 10 High Streets across the south west of England.

Keynsham High Street has been awarded £1.1million as part of Historic England’s High Streets Heritage Action Zone (HS HAZ) Programme with additional funding from Keynsham Town Council (£40,000) and Bath and North East Somerset Council (£100,000 from the Community Levy Infrastructure).
